Auto Fabrica must have been in some sort of show-off spree while designing their BMWR80 model.
First they had to strip down the motorbike completely so they could redesign everything from scratch besides trimming down its weight. As the dealer’s boss puts it, their plan was to retain the standard tank. Then lower the front end a great deal to push the aesthetic look more towards an aggressive style.
They afterwards had to reposition the iconic tank to split the visual balance of the bike into two. This left the bike in two parts: the top part, which includes the seat and the tank, and the bottom half which includes the engines and the wheels. And so, a void was left in the middle.
To retain the BMW shape most people are familiar with, the company proceeded to modify the tank by making it cleaner and adding deep blue hue to it. Adding a second rider could have compromised the look they had in mind, so they decided to make detachable passenger pegs for it. The airbox was modified to imitate rear lighting, and afterwards laced with staggered aluminum fins. Next they had to make some improvement on the back of the boxer engine and add a faint custom touch to it to make the design even more insane. What a nice way to show off!!!
